There is a global shortage of ammonia. The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and other world events has further highlighted the need for Australia to securely manufacture its own vital resources such as ammonia.

90% of Australia’s ammonia is currently imported. Shipping costs for imported ammonia have increased from US$45 per tonne to US$75 per tonne in the past 24 months. The cost of urea for Australian food growers has risen from $500 per tonne to over $1,500 per tonne in 2022, causing financial pain for growers and end consumers.

Our geothermal technology will produce ammonia here in Australia, which can be utilised to produce fertiliser, explosives and Adblue. Our facility is projected to produce up to 5 million tonnes of urea fertiliser per year using CO2 emitted from Darwin gas electricity generation.

Discussions are ongoing on project funding, potential joint ventures and off take agreements for 25 to 30-year ammonia supply agreements with several potential investors at various stages of their due diligence processes.
